Hugo Appleby Ltd. pride ourselves
on our commitment to health and safety and understand
that effective business management can only be successful
if proper consideration is given to preventing injury
and ill health to our employees, members of the public,
tenants and anyone who may come into contact with our
works.
We set our own performance targets above those required
by statute and legislation. All our employees are aware
of this commitment, as a result of our positive safety
culture and pro-active approach to the subject.
We ensure all people employed on site and their representatives
are fully briefed regarding Hugo Appleby’s health
and safety requirements.
Health and Safety in maintained within the organisation
by regular safety training for key personnel and regular
inspection and instruction given to personnel on site.
All subcontractors are asked to provide method statements
and briefed on health and safety and where appropriate
involved in the design process to ensure works are designed
safely to comply with the constructions (design and
management) regulations 1994.
Regular site inspections are made by Hugo Appleby safety
personnel to assess the site for compliance with our
health and safety requirements. On every project our
site manager carries out daily and weekly health and
safety checks. And in addition to this we employ Health
and Safety consultants Richardson-Hill Ltd to oversee all projects.
On every project our site foreman will oversee the
issuing of daily inductions, permit to works and tool
box talks. Each employee inducted receives a Hugo Appleby.
“Passport to Safety” which we ask them to
keep with them on site at all times. We have at least
one trained First Aider on site at all times.
